This stunning Girard-Perregaux R&D01 chronograph comes as part of a full set and has just been serviced at their UK service centre. It comes with both the rarer stainless steel bracelet and a rubber strap and clasp, both are genuine and original GP. It comes with manual, cards, service documentation & case and in a beautiful wooden presentation box. The watch is in excellent condition with no scratches or dings. 

Girard Perregaux are one of the most historic Swiss watchmakers who can trace their lineage back to 1791. They have a long standing link to motorsport with previous collaborations with Ferrari and currently with the Aston Martin F1 team.

From 1992 until 2010, the Swiss company had the late Luigi Macaluso as its president, as the 1972 European Rally Champion and later president of both the Italian Motorsport Federation and the International Karting Federation, Luigi Macaluso had oil and petroleum running through his veins. As one of the most influential figures in auto racing before his passing Macaluso was also fond of high-end driver’s watches, none more so than the products of Girard-Perregaux.

The R&D 01 is a chronograph that features a black dial, inverted chronograph push-buttons, dials styled after a car’s gauges, a tough rotating internal bezel, and a crown field that takes the look of a Formula One air intake. The watch took several years to to create with lengthy time given to research, development, and feedback given by Formula 1 drivers, hence the R&D name.
