Terms & Conditions

Our terms & conditions are standard for the industry and are outlined below. We pride ourselves on our service and will work closely and collaboratively with you to resolve any issues. Our T&C’s do not affect your statutory rights.

  • Where a warranty has been given it will have been made clear in the listing and you will have been supplied with a warranty card or letter when the watch was delivered, you should keep this safe in case of any issues. The watch movement is covered under warranty, however, this does not apply to any inappropriate damage caused by water ingress, damage caused by dropping or mistreatment of the watch or normal wear and tear. This warranty does not cover damage to bezels, bracelets and straps, cases, crystals, and glasses. The warranty does not cover accidental damage or loss and is not transferable. In the event of any issues please contact us, we will ask you to return the watch and we will have it assessed by an independent watch repairer or an authorised dealer of the relevant brand. If you have a valid warranty claim you may be offered repair and return or a refund. If the watch case back has been removed/opened and /or a repair attempted by a customer or any third party your warranty will be invalid.

  • Where a watch is sold with a manufacturer or other retailer’s warranty then any warranty is with them and subject to their T&C’s , you should contact them in the event of any issues.

  • The accuracy of mechanical watches can vary depending on type / frequency of use and age, they are generally not as accurate as Quartz watches and will need correcting occasionally. Watches should not be assumed to have been serviced unless specifically stated.

  • Warranty on service and repair is specifically on the work carried out and does not apply to any inappropriate damage caused by water ingress, damage caused by dropping or mistreatment of the watch or normal wear and tear. Parts may not be available for vintage watches and they will be repaired to the best available condition & accuracy given parts available.

  • Before setting the time & date or using any other functions you should read the manual carefully.

  • Dated items are dated based on any original paperwork that comes with the watch & will be listed by the ‘date sold ‘ on the original paperwork, you acknowledge that the date of manufacture will be earlier than the paperwork date. All watches we sell have been authenticated and are guaranteed as such.

  • No watch should be treated as water resistant unless specifically stated so by us. Where watches are sold as water resistant please see manufacturers websites and manuals to ascertain which activities are suitable for various water-resistant depths. If you intend to use your watch for swimming, diving, bathing or showering you should have it pressure tested immediately after purchasing & regularly thereafter.

  • Most of the watches we sell are pre-owned and have been used. Unless described as ‘New’, ‘Mint’ or ‘Unworn’ they will show some signs of use which we describe as accurately as possible in the description and the photographs. We are always happy to send additional photos, videos and accommodate in-person viewings at our premises. Just contact us if you would like more information.

  • Due to the large range of watches we sell we do not stock additional links, if you purchase a watch from us it will be supplied with the number of links shown, it is the buyers responsibility to ensure there are sufficient to fit their wrist or to source thereafter if required.

  • Customers can reserve our watches for a 10% non-refundable deposit (min. £200), once the deposit is made we de-list the watch from our website, prepare the watch & paperwork for delivery / collection. If the deal is not completed within 7 days the watch will be relisted and the deposit lost. Customers should only commit to buying a watch if the funds are available at the time.

  • We take great care to describe our watches as accurately as possible, descriptive terms are subjective so we also take clear high definition photographs which should be considered an important part of the description..

  • Our watches are checked thoroughly before shipping, the condition & functionality are recorded on video. We use plain protective packaging to ship the watches and the packaging & all labels are photographed in good condition when the carrier takes possession, if there is any indication that the package has been tampered with or opened you should ask the driver to clearly record this before accepting the package and you should photograph the damage before opening. All our watches are shipped with insurance, you accept responsibility to carry out the above steps for the insurance to be valid. In many cases we will hand deliver the watches or you can arrange collection by appointment.

  • If you would like to return an item bought via the website then under distance selling regulations you have 14 days from receipt to let us know. Items must be returned unworn, in the same condition as they were sent and with all paperwork, boxes and any other documentation or additional parts that were included. Return shipping is the responsibility of the buyer. Please contact us via email - ribblewatchco@outlook.com for the correct address details and ensure all items are securely packed & fully insured.

  • If you have purchased a watch from our eBay shop and via the Authenticity Guarantee program you should open a return case on the eBay listing and it must be returned to eBay’s authentication centre. eBay will provide you with the correct address. They will deal with checking the return meets their criteria and with the refunding of your payment.

  • If you have bought a watch in-person at our premises and inspected and signed for it then there is no automatic right of return. Returns of this type will be assessed on a case by case basis and a re-stocking fee of 15% of the sale price will be deducted from any refund, plus any reasonable costs to cover any wear/ damage incurred whilst in your possession.

  • Any watches we buy will be checked against The Watch Register to ensure they haven’t been registered as lost, stolen or involved in an insurance claim or fraud. If a watch is checked and is found to be a match on the register we will hold the watch securely on behalf of the Watch Register and supply them with your contact details.

  • Any offers to buy your watch are indicative only until an in-person inspection for condition & timekeeping is carried out, Offers are valid for 7 days.
