In 1957 OMEGA released the first Speedmaster, the CK2915, it was a revolutionary design for the time and the first chronograph to feature a tachymeter scale on the bezel rather than the dial, it was aimed at the growing tool and sports watch market alongside the Seamaster 300 & Railmaster, all featuring the distinctive ‘Broad Arrow’ hands. The Speedmaster became the most popular of the so called ‘Holy Trinity’ and OMEGA have revisited the original design on numerous occasions, the 3551.50.00 is one of these models and is clearly a nod to those first Speedmasters. It features an automatic 3303 movement with a 55hr power reserve and is presented on a robust stainless steel bracelet, the classic black dial features the familiar triple 3,6 &9 subdial layout and broad arrow hands as well as a date window at 6 ‘o’clock.
